Narrative Description:

This large tropical species is traditionally used as a vegetable in Asian continents due to its edible corm, but is often seen in Europe as a stunning foliage plant. 'Blue Hawaii's large foliage has intricate blue-grey veining spreading out from the centre of the leaf, creating a very distinct plant perfect for warm, but shady areas.

Ideal Conditions:

Best grown in full sun, in well-drained soil with shelter from cold winds.

Possible Situation:

A great plant for containers or borders in summer, ideally with good protection from cold into Autumn.
